The Institute for Urban Development announces a call to select beneficiary localities for the project “Improving local public finance management by involving citizens and local stakeholders in planning and executing local budgets”, funded by UK aid with the support of the UK Government.
The project aims to increase public involvement in local budget planning, to strengthen the capacity of local public authorities to organise public hearings on the local budget, and to support beneficiary communities in planning local budgets and increasing budget revenues. Beneficiary communities will be supported throughout the process of applying participatory budgeting at local level. Only 25 local communities (towns and villages) will receive assistance and support under the project.
Interested first-tier local public authorities are invited to complete the application form (in Romanian or Russian), available here.
Attention all interested local authorities: the deadline for submitting the application form has been extended to 15 July 2017.
