The Institute for Urban Development will support the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Moldova in organising and delivering professional development courses for civil servants and elected officials of first-tier local public authorities. The initiative is funded by the Joint Integrated Local Development Programme, UNDP Moldova.

The Institute for Urban Development was selected together with two other organisations – AXA Management Consulting and the Institute for Development and Social Initiatives “Viitorul” – to develop/adapt and deliver, over the next two years, five training modules for local public authority staff in human resource management, local public finance management, local tax collection, public procurement and public property management.

Yesterday, 19 November, the Academy of Public Administration signed cooperation agreements with each of these organisations, describing the cooperation mechanism, the joint actions to be carried out, the deadlines and those responsible for implementation. As a result of the cooperation, the five modules will be institutionalised within the Academy, 50 trainers will be trained (10 for each module), and the courses will then be delivered to staff of local public authorities.
